Standard poodles are actually pretty decent dogs. I would never have one as a real hunting retriever, but these are smart and well-mannered dogs for the most part. The haircuts they put on some of these dogs are a small crime, but that's a matter of aesthetics, not ethics or poor (dog) breeding.
