As it notes in the gutter on this blog:
Typos and other imperfections are signs that this is a handmade product made by one person with a real job, two kids, three dogs, a big yard, and limited time. It is natural for variations and imperfections in spelling, wording, color, and picture placement to occur, and these should be considered part of the essential character of this blog.

I am a carpenter and engage in woodcarving from time to time. Occasionally I make a small mistake that can't quite be completely corrected. I just leave it as a sign of a hand made item. Some call this "signing one's work."
When I was doing some community activist work a few years ago, I was fretting over some errors in opinion letters I was getting back from the public, as it all was to be submitted to the big dogs for decision making. It was my own anxiety/personal prejudice talking to think that grammatical errors would lessen the impact of the opinions expressed, a foible I confess to continually struggling with (notice dangling preposition, oh GAWD!). Anyway, my lawyer told me a story I think of every time this comes up. He said that Persian rug weavers intentionally botch a knot in their rugs as a sign that only God can create perfection. I like that.

I think the difference is that you make genuine mistakes in word useage and spelling. As do most of us.
Someone who just doesn't know how to spell or use proper grammar, for the most part, just doesn't need to be typing long diatribes.
