Uneven Human Population Distribution


The colored parts of this global map show where 10 percent of the world’s population live.

Five percent of the world's population lives in the blue area, and five percent live in the red area.

The remaining 90 percent of the world's population lives in in the white area.

For another perspective, look at the map below. 



There are more people living inside the circle than outside of it, despite the fact that the circle is more than half ocean, and includes one of the most sparsely inhabited regions on earth (Mongolia).

More Muslims live inside the circle than outside of it, and that is also true for Hindus and Buddhists.
