The only successful Middle East peace treaty was forged in Frederick County Maryland on September 17th of 1978.
Menachen Begin and Anwar Sadat shared the 1978 Nobel Peace Prize for the Camp David Accords, but the achievement led to Sadat’s assassination in October of 1981 by members of an Al-Qaeda-linked group calling themselves the Egyptian Islamic Jihad.
