The Magic of Recessive Genes in the Bible

For those interested in ancient genetic knowledge of recessives genes, I recommend the story of Jacob’s Sheep, to be found in Genesis 30:25-43

SUMMARY:  “In Genesis 30:25-43, Jacob, having finally had his son Joseph, seeks to return home to Canaan, but Laban, recognizing God's blessing on his household due to Jacob, asks him to name his wages for staying on. Jacob proposes to take all the spotted and dark-colored animals as his pay, a seemingly poor deal for him but a shrewd maneuver for wealth, as he uses selective breeding techniques to ensure the strong, healthy animals produced were spotted or dark, making him extremely prosperous while Laban received the feeble, solid-colored ones.”

The Biblical story has Jacob using peeled bark sticks from various trees to guide his magical business plan, but in fact it’s just recessive genes doing their thing.
