My son’s dog is two years old today and, as luck would have it, she was also scheduled to get spayed.
Oddly, my son’s first Pit Bull —the Original Lucy — died on this same day in 2020, at age 11, three months after being diagnosed with bladder cancer.
The spay went well, and without a hitch. Terrific work at an incredibly low price for a nearly 60-pound dog. done by a small town vet that specializes in low-cost cat and dog spays. Recommended to me by the local big-town shelter about 20 miles away. A clean well-lighted surgery attached to a boarding kennel.
Total was $298 including pre-op blood work ($47), spay ($215), 3-year rabies vaccine ($17), microchip ($14), and Carpofen ($5). They did her nails for free.
The only catch was I had to schedule in May to get a September appointment. Glad I did it! It’s my son’s dog and every dollar saved is as good as gold.
