Fifteen of the beds will be associated with the eight apple trees, three peach, and two crab apple trees in the just-planted orchard area. Nine of the other ten beds will go into the backyard, with another bed at the very start of the driveway under a crabapple I have planted there.
Rather than dig 25 beds, I am going to plant the bulbs under 6 inches of mounded topsoil placed on top of the bulbs, and mulched over and around with wood chips. Daffodils are both very deer and squirrel-resistant.
