We are as giants compared to most of our dogs. Imagine a T-Rex towering over you, or King Kong towering over Fay Ray, and you have some idea of what it must look like to a dog when you reach out to pick it up, pat in on the head, or afix a collar.
What's amazing is not that some dogs are hand-shy, but that all of them aren't.
