Big Blow Down
One of the uprooted blow-downs. This was inside the forest line.
I don't know if you have read Reading the Forested Landscape by Tim Wessels (sp?) but you may see your local forest with different eyes after. It is all about reading the storm and logging history of a piece of forest by the signs left behind.
An aspect of climate change that escapes notice. More energyin the system, stronger winds. Big winds that aren't hurricanes or tornadoes can do a lot of damage.
