I picked this sign up for a few dollars at a local antique and junk shop. The condition and a google search of the name and address confirmed it’s real, if comical. The fellow owned an ATV sales company on the Eastern Shore.
I’m going to tape Woody Guthrie’s lyrics to the back:
“I’ve roamed and rambled, and I've followed my footstepsTo the sparkling sandsof her diamond desertsAll around me, a voice was soundingThis land was made for you and meThere was a big, high wall therethat tried to stop meA sign was painted said‘Private Property’But on the backside,it didn't say nothingThis land was made for you and me
When the sun come shining,
then I was strollingAnd the wheat fields waving, and the dust clouds rollingThe voice was chantingas the fog was liftingThis land was made for you and me”
