These animals are built a bit like bags of Jello. I have measured groundhogs as big as 18 pounds with 14-inch chests -- about the same size as fox or an in-ground raccoon.

Fat content? I'm reminded of Doc Watson's Groundhog song, particularly the line that says "Meat's in the cupboard and butter's in the churn".
