Both fox and coyote scat taper to points and will always have fur in the matrix, but coyote poop is larger.
When it’s a mid-range deposit (ie either a big fox turd or a small coyote turd ) it can be hard to tell them apart.
Red Fox are 11-17 pounds depending on sex and food, while coyote will ranger from 25-50 pounds depending on sex, food, and genetics (i.e. how much wolf or dog is coursing around inside them).
