Siberian scientists have found, sealed inside permafrost, the perfectly-preserved body of a 12,450 year-old female puppy -- perhaps dog, proto-dog, or wolf.
The dog, dug out of the permafrost in the Sakha Republic, was found to contain the remnants of a Woold Rhinoceros meal.
Because any dog of wolf, much less a puppy, is unable to kill a Wooly Rhino, it is speculated that the animal's last meal was either fed to it at the hand of man, or was scavenged.
