Yesterday’s paddle was a bit more work than intended.
I took both dogs on my kayak (Carolyn was dog-free), which was a start.
All fine on the paddle, but we overshot our pullout due to faster flood water and a very different looking river.
The next possible pullout required a 3-mile walk back to my bike, which was an additional peddle back up to the car.
Adding complexity and work to it all was that downed trees had damned the creek off the river, requiring a non-approved pullout next to the aqueduct, and a portage up to the SUV when I finally caught up with the vehicle.
All sorted in the end though!
