A fox will kill a possum, but it prefers a mouse, as it’s less work and less chance of taking even a small bite. While a fox will reach full size in its full year, possums seem to continue to grow for 2-3 years. Most possums die in the first year, but a three- or four-year old possum (a rare animal) can top 20 pounds.
