Great Moments with Police and Dogs

A deputy in Georgetown County (South Carolina) was forced to use a taser on his own K-9 on Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy responded to the scene of a reported burglary around 4:00 p.m.

A cow near the scene distracted the dog which led to the dog biting the cow.

To deescalate the situation, the deputy tased the dog.

The cow was spooked and “struck the deputy and the property owner,” resulting in minor injuries, according to GCSO.

The sheriff’s office said that the burglary call “proved to be unfounded.”

A reminder that states require more training time to become a barber than a police officer and police dogs are notorious for poor training.

I think a dog's breeding has more to do with health than what brand of dog food it eats. Blue Heelers are known to live long lives. My grandparent's Blue Heeler lived to be 21. Sadly, she got run over by a hired helper's tractor. She was blind and deaf and he wasn't watching out for her. Anyway, all she ate was the cheapest kibble. I don't know the brand. I would have to ask my grandma, if she even remembers. But I know the farm cats always ate Friskies and Meow Mix. They did fine as long as they were not killed by something.
