I watched “The Man Who Would Be King” (a John Huston-directed film) last night on Amazon. It's a Rudyard Kipling story, with Michael Caine and Sean Connery in the lead roles, and released in 1975. A terrific movie.
The movie was shot in Ouarzazate, Morocco. Ouarzazate was just a wide spot in the road when I stopped there as a kid in 1969. Lawrence of Arabia had been filmed there, and over the next 30 years it became a movie location for quite a lot. But in 1969, the one hotel had bed sheets that moved with the insect life inside the mattress. Still a favorite family story.
