Actually, that Is EXACTLY what the graph of world population growth looks like. I’m a demographer by training, and this blog frequently references the speed of world population growth. The graph shown is so ubiquitous, it’s calke the “J graph” or “the hockey stick”. It took all of time until 1830 to ge the first billion people in earth, 100 more years to get the second, 30 years to get the third. 15 to get the fourth, etc.
With all due respect, it really isn't. Look it up, how long did it take humanity to add the last billion, compared to the billion before that? The curve is flattening. Population is still growing (yes, I agree, not a good thing), but grow speed is slowing dow.
Nope. This graph is still 100 correct. This is a graph of absolute numbers and it is 100 percent correct. You are confused about rates and absolute growth. The planet only compares about absolute growth as it absolutely cannot grow.
