Folding Bikes May Get a Lot Smaller Fast

Designer Andrea Mocellin has invented a folding wheel, the Revolve.

It takes up 60 percent less space and "when folded it allows the user to easily store it at home, in a backpack, in a trolley, in a trunk or even in the overhead baggage hold on an airplane."

Imagine what this could do for wheelchairs which are notoriously hard to transport in cars and airplanes.

Imagine what it could do for commuter bicycles where "the last mile" on either end of a subway or train ride has been a headache because folding bikes are still too big and regular bikes are subject to theft if left out doors.

My current folding bike carries two working terriers.
