The beat of fascism continues in Europe as in the US.
We have them here, they have them there, and the Arab world has them too.
That's the bad news.
What's the good news?
Just this: We can stand up and push back against the angry bullies and the loud ignorants spewing hate and division.
But we cannot be cowards.
We can love or dislike people for who they are, rather than the color of their skin, the color of their passport, or the name of their God (or absence of God).
But we cannot be cowards.
It takes only a little match to defeat a whole lot of darkness, but you may have to generate that spark and flame all by yourself.
Can you do it?
You may have to stand shoulder to shoulder with others in order to magnify the light.
Can you do it?
This is your time. Yes, you can be in The Resistance.
But you cannot be in The Resistance and also be a coward.
It's just that simple.
And when the dust settles, what side will you be on?

Good stuff, your post. Piet Hein (1905-1996), as have many through the centuries, stood tall in Denmark against his country's WWII occupation. Fascist ideology, today, seldom comes from foreign nations. The ordinary man/woman will always resist. -- TEC
