Beatrix Potter, Mycology Artist


This illustration of a flammulina velutipes, or winter mushroom, was done by Beatrix Potter.
The author of The Tale of Peter Rabbit and other wonderfully illustrated children’s books was a Victorian enthusiast of natural history with a keen interest in mycology, producing excellent drawings and paintings of mushrooms she saw throughout the English isles,
