The wife and I went rolling with the pups today on our Tern folding bikes. This is the lock house at Pennyfield lock. The C & O Canal parallels the Potomac River from Georgetown (just across the river from my house) all the way to West Virginia -- over 184 miles of smooth bike path through a green corridor that is groaning with wildlife. I can, literally, bicycle from my house to West Virginia, and never see a traffic light.
