Working With What You Have
Fred Vaillancourt was a railroad brakeman who lost both legs in an accident. He sold postcards, such as this one, to support his family, and worked the Adirondack lumber camps in New York around 1910.

It's really sad that he had such a terrible accident, but amazing that he survived to carry on with his life business. Might I ask what kind of dogs he has pulling that cart and sled? They look like some type of mastiff but I've never seen dogs harnessed up like horses before.
