No, that's not Grace Slick, but Cathy Richardson, and she is about as good, if not better, than Grace was in her more-or-less sober prime (if that is possible). The band here is Paul Kantner, David Freiberg, Donny Baldwin, Slick Aguilar, Chris Smith, and Marty Balin -- the real deal.
When Bon Scott died, I figured AC/DC was gone forever, but damn if Brian Johnson did not step in and do the job as good as, or better, than ever. This is the same thing, albeit with a long broken patch of road in between. To be fair to all, however, this is an imitation, while Grace Slick was the original.
Alcohol and age got Grace, and alcohol alone got Bon Scott. Let that be a lesson, kids.
And speaking of Starships... Here's Johnny Cash as one of the legendary Highwaymen.
.
I fly a starship
cross the universe divine
and when I reach the other side
I find a place to rest my spirit if I can
perhaps I may become a highwayman again
or I may simply be a single drop of rain
but I will remain
and I'll be back again and again and again and again....
