Trooper's Repairing Nicely

Trooper is back from the vet, minus his tumor.

The old man seemed to have a good night, and he is snoring right now on an old moving pad I hauled in from the garage for him to rest on, as his normal bed is a bit poofy for him to get up on with a weak back section and stitches.

Hope he's back on his feet (in a non-sedated, non-drunken manner of course) soon. What a sweet old boy!

Does he still go with you and the Russells out to the field to go digging at all?

Thanks all. He's a grand old man -- retired now from the field for about 7 years (he was far too hard and too big), but he still goes walking in the woods with me. He's happy and healthy and as wobbly as a drunk right now, but he will back in the swing in a week or two. He's a little senile and deaf, but so what? He's old! As long as he can walk, eat, and grin he has a place in this house. He has been a very loyal dog; the least I can do is honor his integrity. Plus he minds me. That's rare in this house, I assure you!

Is what we should do every good master to his faithful dog, even if old and sick.
Is not a disposable item.
Right thing! I can understand my mastiff to Cerberus for 10 years still has not serious problems but soon arrive!(It is hoped as late as possible!)
One of my dogs died and 16 years and was treated like a family member in the last period of his long life, was the minimum!

Wishes for good healing
