Dachshunds have been "Johnny Dogs" to our family ever since. One of my brother's and my favorite pass-times was taking Johnny out to Grandpa and Grandma's corn crib to kill rats. Johnny would catch everything that was apparent and on the run, and then he would disappear down the holes throughout the bottom of the crib and come up with a rat most every time.
