Rain Brings Mushrooms, As Predicted

Late rain has started the delayed production of forest mushrooms.

We had huge numbers of edible Wine Caps in the Spring, but our Fall production is different.

The bright red fungus is, I think, Cinnabar fungus, a type of polypore.

The orange mushrooms are poisonous bioluminescent Jack-o'-lantern mushrooms (Omphalotus illuden).

Both are in the forest just off my driveway.
