TWO YEARS AGO we had a big microburst that took out at least 18 big trees, and required a crew of tree guys over a week with a tank-sized chipper, chainsaws, and an 18-wheeler roll-off to clear.
To be fair, they also cleaned up about 30 years worth of deferred forest maintenance that presented as tangles of downed timber. It was a lot.
When the dust settled, a few hundred yards of wood chip mulch was spread on the forest floor next to the driveway.
Person in middle for scale.
We have *tall* trees. Only about 60 feet back from the driveway was cleaned up. Past that, it’s Mother Nature and Father Time on cleanup.
