The Bald Eagle chicks are fledging out of the nest. One was still in the nest this morning, and the other had flown off to the top of a broken off tree.  I zeroed in on the one out of the nest. He poked around a bit, flapped his wings for practice, and then took off into the understory below, where he disappeared.
The chick in the nest flapped its wings twice, but otherwise seemed calm. He (or she) will almost certainly be out of the nest by tomorrow.
