Irish Spring Soap to Deter Deer?
I’ve planted 8 apple trees of three varieties, 3 peach trees, and 2 crab apples. The trees are 7-9 feet tall. If the trees ever fruit, the crab apples and most of the fruit apples will probablt go to the deer. I should live so long!
To combat deer browse, I’ve zip-tied half a bar of Irish Spring soap to the support stakes of each tree at about deer-nose height. The strong scent of Irish Spring bar soap is supposed to act as a deer repellant. We’ll see if it works.
