I drilled a pilot hole into my finger the other day. No, not to let the demons out. Stupid mistake while trying to correct a bent piece of wood while putting in 35 feet of garage shelves. Cello tape and paper-towel applied (aka standard wound therapy), but the thing was like a sausage 4 hours later. Long story short, I had hand surgery today to get out a bit of wood and the resulting infection. No bone broken or tendon cut, so getting away cheap. I will live to fight another day, but typing and photography will be slower. Three days later. and it appears to be healing well. The surgeon's instructions were: Cephalexin, vet wrap, and keep it dry, same as I do with dog wounds. No goops!
