▪️The breeding lesson is that when your livelihood depends on pennies and pounds, as it is when you raise beef, you know the value of outcrossing and the danger of inbreeding.
▪️The training lesson is that if the pain is not worth the gain, the lesson tends to be quickly learned, even if the “student” is a not-very bright cow. After the first three shocks, cows rarely test electric fences, no matter how green the grass is on the other side.
