Dog Rescued From Bear Cave

Earlier this week, a Sevier County, Tennessee Technical Rope Rescue Team, working with the Walden Creek Fire Department, rescued a hunting dog that spent three days nearly 40 feet deep in a narrow cave shaft.

When the rescue team first rappelled down to save the dog, named Charlie, they found a sleeping black bear in front of the dog.

Discretion being the better part of valor, the rescue team backed out and up, and set up a camera. Whenh they were certain the bear had exited, the team re-entered the cave to successfully extract the dog.
