Woodpeckers and Poison Plants
Pileated Woodpecker holes next to a poison ivy vine as thick as my arm. The tree guys run this stuff through a shredder without thinking about it. By the time the poison ivy is mixed with yards of tree mulch, it’s probably pretty harmless. “The solution to pollution is dilution”. Note the poison ivy berries in the second photo — they’re the “gift” that keeps giving.
