An Extraordinary Bicycle Path

The C&O Canal meets the Greater Allegheny Passage rail-trail, creating a seamless 340-mile bicycle path stretching along gorgeous rivers, from Washington, DC to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

In reality, this trail is nearly 400 miles long, as the 45-mile long Washington and Old Dominion rail-trail stretches from Purcellville to within a quarter mile of the C&O Canal.

The ride along all three trails is nearly perfectly flat and the bike trails are in excellent shape.
