Porcupine Sex

How do porcupines mate?

Second, to court a female during the short mating season, a male porcupine stands on his hind legs, and then sprays her urine from as far as 6 feet away. If the female is ready and impressed, she’ll rear up and expose her quill-less underbelly in order to let the male mount her from behind -- the only safe position.

Once mating begins, the female is insatiable and forces the male to mate until he is thoroughly exhausted. If he gets tired too quickly, she will leave him for another male.
