Drove up to the watershed above town to see the leaves. A few hunters on the deeply rutted back roads. Took the two non-working dogs with me. Pictured is Darwin, who was my mother’s dog and is now my TV lap warmer. My wife’s dog is crated in the car, as she doesn’t understand that driving is not a team sport.
Hunting season is always a cypher this time of year, with bow closed for a bit, and then black powder for a week before it closes to regular firearm, and them bow and black powder are closed and regular firearms will open again for a bit. Total confusion, and it doesn’t help that it changes from region to region, at least for deer.
This week it’s black bear season running from October 24 through Saturday, October 29.
