The “fire called desire” is a glorious thing, but no terrier can dig through a rock or a root, or excavate 20 feet of tight pipe.
No matter how tough you are, you cannot pound a quart of sand into a pint bottle.
What’s that mean for terriers?
Simple: A terrier has to be able to reach its quarry.
If a terrier cannot reach a groundhog in a tight pipe, it can’t reach a red fox in a tight pipe.
This is not theory; this is science and experience.
