Life deep underground is warmer in cold weather, cooler in hot weather, and relatively safe from bombs and radiation. As long as there is excellent drainage, it’s a very good choice; a top shelf home, approved by Mother Nature for 200 million years.

there is a documentary I believe the title is "No Place on Earth" or something similar about a Jewish family who survived 500 some days living in a cave (in the Ukraine I think) during WWII hiding from the Nazis. I think there's a book about it too.
