Highway Life




I saw this Cooper's Hawk on the ground
at the base of a high-transformer pole. He was fine, and judging by the bird skulls, beaks, and feathers in the grass, he’d been fine at this location for at least a week.

The Cooper’s Hawk flew off into a brushy area with a bird carcass.  As I scanned to locate it (I never did), I spied a frozen brown lump peeking out. Was that a groundhog?  I had to look through the camera viewfinder to know, but… yep.
