White-tails In the Fog

I spotted this fellow at 6 am, just as I started a short bike ride.

There were four deer, but I lost the others who bounded away into the fog and vegetation.

The terriers, who are normally pretty phlegmatic about deer, were excited, but they might have smelled more than deer. There’s a lot going on in forest and field that is unseen by me, but smelled and heard by the dogs.
