I'm not a big fan of the DNR policy of planting plots of sunflowers for dove hunters who are basically just engaged in target practice without purpose, but then dove populations are more than fine as are the Coopers Hawks that feed on them.
So long as the land is protected and the critters are in large and steady numbers, the world is probably OK, not matter what I think.
