Eastern cottontail rabbit this evening.
Bugs Bunny is a European rabbit. How do we know? He lives in a hole. With but one exception (a type of rare pygmy rabbit in the far northwest), American rabbits live above ground and kindle in shallow scrapes that are no deeper than an ice cream bowl.
