An Heir Without a Spare



I watched these three deep in the grass along the creek. Pretty sure it’s a mated pair with their young charge. There are so many meso-predators along here that the mortality of geese and ducks must be off the charts. Out of 5-6 hatchlings, this is likely the only one that made it to the age of three months. Hard to believe that 60 years ago it was thought that Giant Canada Geese were extinct
