Trying to Avoid Predators

In order to combat terrestrial predators (fox, raccoon, coyote) geese are starting to nest as deep into the water of the marsh as they can while keeping their eggs (they hope!) dry.

A lot of rain in the last two days, has flooded some low paths and pushed water over the banks in a few places.

Baby geese run a gauntlet of land predators, but also see attack from the air (hawks, eagles, owls) and the water (snapping turtles and some large fish).
