Wire Haired Dachshund Wins Crufts

I like working dachshunds for their nose and voice.

These are game little dogs, but they do have a frequent health problem: bad backs which require about 25 percent of them to eventually have surgery due to disc issues

As for most standard American and British Dachshunds -- they are far too low in the leg, and too big in the chest, to work well underground.  Look for a teckel or working miniature dachshund.

This year's Crufts winner, Maisie, took a dump on the green carpet during her victory lap with owner Kim McCalmont.

At least a somewhat normal looking dog with a nose won. I was afraid of it being the French Bulldog.
