In a heartbeat, any herding dog's answer would be, "I'll be fine without a coat".
I suppose that a gray-in-the-snout, retired Border Collie, beyond his working days, might consider sporting his clan tartan to protect against snow/rain/cold while watching a herding trial, and reminiscing earlier days. But BCs know that a true herding dog aficionado would never laugh, and others would merely mock themselves by raising an eyebrow or evidencing a snicker. -- TEC
