I dig alone and carry all the tools, including (not pictured) a 6-foot digging bar and a heavy-duty set of pothole diggers.
The shovel fits perfectly in a Brockwood bow pack, with machete, long-handled trowel, and snare next to it. Leashes, tie-outs, water, saw, knife, etc. are inside. Put it altogether, and it's quite a load to drag through thick brush on a hot day, but every piece is worth carrying and is necessary.
