An Old Soap That Still Works Wonders



Coal tar soap turns up as a recommendation for a lot of skin ailments in old veterinary texts and is available over the counter pretty much everywhere.

Coal tar is a liquid by-product of the distillation of coal to make coke and natural gas.

The soap was, and is, used to treat skin ailments the world over, and is on the World Health Organization's List of Essential Medicines.
