Before Hurricane Florence

The Potomac River is already starting to shoot its banks above Great Falls, and this is on Tuesday before massive Hurricane Florence is supposed to hit on Friday.

The eye of the storm looks to slam into North Carolina, so we are very unlikely to get the full force of it, but I suspect the Canal path will get topped.  The folks at Field & Stream magazine surveyed the river just below my house and they concur!

  1. Sounds like the ground is already saturated. Is that true up and down the SE coastal belt?

  2. Don't know. but it is here. Karen, who is in Aiken, SC says she could use the rain, but she's pretty well back from the coast. That said, I bet she gets 10" of rain.
